The single-leaf door in progress – in the former bakery (now yoga room)
The single door leaf lies here in the old bakery – now our yoga room – on the underframe of an old kitchen table. Everywhere wood dust and chips: the workplace of a craftsman.
Resting on the door leaf is a hand milling machine, normally used for building stairs. It is fitted with special guide rails. This tool is used to cut a straight groove. The groove, of the tongue and groove system, will later serve to glue the two door leaves of the formerly double-leaf door together into a single, solid door.
The room itself breathes history: bread was once baked here. Now, with great patience and precision, a very special front door is being created – made from old wood, with new ideas.
