A bushing for the door hinge – created on a 100‑year‑old lathe

In the seller's workshop in the basement, a small but crucial part is being made on a historic Wolf Jahn lathe: a bushing.

The lathe is over 100 years old – a precision instrument from an era when craftsmanship was still the standard. Today, it is used to manufacture this one component, which will later become part of the self‑developed special hinge for our new front door.

The bushing will later accommodate the hinge's pivot point, ensuring smooth movement despite the door's super heavy weight ;-) . Thus, old craftsmanship and modern door construction come together here – accurate to one hundredth of a millimetre.
